Do you feed a cold or starve a fever?
This is a trick question. The correct answer is neither. Feeding a cold or starving a fever does nothing to alleviate symptoms. This old wives’ tale began centuries before modern medicine taught us that the best remedies for the common cold are to keep hydrated and get a lot of rest.
A fever, though, could be a sign of something more serious. In the case of a high fever, visit your family physician or the RediMed clinic nearest you.
